Single Piece
This piece has been a visual journey of over 50 hours of dedication. In addition to exploring still life, which is not my usual subject, creating this artwork on a wooden canvas helped me better understand how brushstrokes and pigments react to different surfaces. "MUSA" is a unique representation of an oil bottle with bananas transparently depicted in the background.
I confess, breaking away from the general form my eyes perceive was a challenge, but that's what makes this painting so special. It's not just a still life; it's an exploration of new techniques and realities. Each brushstroke was an abstract observation, a challenge that led the artwork to a hyper-realistic result. When you have a real-life reference, observation is a crucial component. It's essential to meticulously analyze each fragment of the painting and break down the main composition into small abstract forms.
I want you to feel the emotional connection behind "MUSA." This painting goes beyond the visual; it's an expression of creativity, patience, and the constant pursuit of excellence. While painting "MUSA," aside from deconstructing the way I saw shapes, I found myself in a battle to find the right colors. Painting transparencies means accepting that if a banana is yellow and transparent over a bottle with liquid of any color, that banana is no longer yellow. For this painting, the combination of yellow bananas, a bottle with orange liquid, and a blue background made the bananas shift to green tones. This is the magic of observation and what makes this painting so special.
